About the role
Are you a natural communicator with an analytical mind? Do you want to understand how a complex medical product is defined before a single line of code is written? Our Instrumentation Development chapter in Sant Cugat (Barcelona) is looking for a Software Product Owner / Requirement Engineer Intern
In this role, you will support our Product Owners in the vital task of defining "what" we build. You will act as a bridge between high-level business needs and the technical implementation teams, ensuring that every feature is clearly documented and understood. This is a unique opportunity to gain a holistic view of the healthcare business and the lifecycle of medical software.
Main responsibilities
Requirement Definition: Support the creation and maintenance of Feature Files and Product Requirements that guide our software implementation partners.
Product Risk Management: Identify product risks in defined features and define appropriate risk control measures to mitigate risks that could cause patient harm.
Operational Agility: Assist Product Owners in the day-to-day operational tasks, ensuring that requirements are ready for development "sprints" and resolving functional doubts.
Tool Management: Work directly with our official requirement management tool, Retina (Codebeamer) , to keep documentation organized and updated.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Help gather needs and feedback from different areas, including Business Leaders (IPM), Global Service (GCS), and other cross-functional departments.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that the defined requirements meet the necessary quality attributes for a regulated medical environment.
Process optimization: Actively participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement of requirements processes within a SAFe environment.
How would your day-to-day look like?
Your day will involve a lot of interaction within the internal team and stakeholders from other areas and projects. You will participate in meetings with senior Product Owners to understand the strategic roadmap, and then translate those ideas into detailed documentation. You will spend time in Retina , refining feature descriptions, product risks, product requirements and ensuring the "definition of ready" is met for the developers.
Under the guidance of your assigned mentor , you will learn how to balance the needs of different stakeholders while building a strong network across various business areas. It’s a role that combines deep "desk work" (analysis and writing) with constant collaboration and networking.
Who are you?
Education: Recent graduate in Informatics, Telecommunications, or Biomedical Engineering We value your understanding of the product domain and logic over coding skills.
Analytical Skills: You have a knack for breaking down complex problems into clear, logical requirements.
Communication: You are comfortable talking to people from different backgrounds (technical and non-technical) and have excellent writing skills.
Organization: You are methodical and detail-oriented, especially when managing documentation and deadlines.
Languages: Professional proficiency in English (B2/C1 level) is essential, as you will interact with international stakeholders.
