This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.
Job Profile Summary
The successful candidate will lead the technical direction and engineering delivery for the Secondary Markets space, including secondary market making, secondary trade execution, external vendor connectivity and the modernization of the current platform in the context of the strategic Structured Notes buildout. From a technical perspective, the candidate will be comfortable defining architecture and setting development standards as an active hands on contributor. From a project and business perspective, the candidate will engage directly with trading, platform, and ops stakeholders, partnering with front office technology and adjacent workstreams to deliver an integrated, front to back platform that aligns with the Structured Notes strategic architecture. The role will combine hands‑on technical depth with strategic thinking and leadership presence.
Responsibilities:
Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
Automates manual release activities
Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
Owning the technology stack supporting secondary market activity for Structured Notes within Equity Derivatives
Driving delivery of a multi‑year technology roadmap aligned to a major business growth initiative
Partnering closely with Trading and Structuring to deliver scalable, performant solutions that meet real‑time front‑office needs
Leading system stability, production excellence, and resiliency for mission‑critical platforms
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
8+ years of experience in technology roles supporting capital markets, derivatives, or structured products
Strong technical background with hands‑on experience in modern front‑office systems (e.g., Java, Python, C#, distributed systems, real‑time platforms)
Understanding of equity derivatives concepts including pricing, Greeks, lifecycle events, and secondary market dynamics
Experience working closely with traders, quants, or structurers in a demanding delivery environment
Proven ability to take ownership of complex systems and deliver outcomes in ambiguous problem spaces
Strong execution discipline combined with intellectual curiosity and a desire to grow professionally
Ability to operate effectively within a large, global organization while driving meaningful change
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role
Passion for building and owning front‑office technology that directly enables business outcomes
Strong interest in Structured Notes, Equity Derivatives, and complex financial products, with a desire to deepen domain expertise
Demonstrated ability to thrive in high‑visibility roles with senior stakeholder engagement
