Job Description

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing, integrating, and maintaining low-level software, such as Linux kernel drivers, bootloaders, or bare-metal firmware in C or C++.
  • Experience with storage subsystems (such as UFS or eMMC) or related I/O interfaces on mobile or embedded platforms.
  • Experience debugging basic hardware/software interactions and system-level issues using hardware-level debuggers or lab tools.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments to integrate, test, and validate low-level system software on custom hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate initialization sequences and low-level software for Universal Flash Storage (UFS) across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
  • Write and tune code across the Linux kernel and bootloaders to manage complex SoC interactions—including hardware clocks and power domains—ensuring high storage performance, power efficiency, and stability.
  • Demonstrate AI fluency as an expectation in this role, and be prepared to discuss your knowledge and use of AI tools during the hiring process.
  • Investigate, triage, and fix low-level firmware interactions, power state regressions, and latency bottlenecks at the hardware-software boundary.
