This role is essential for driving the development and continuous improvement of scalable, high-performance software applications and services. By combining hands-on coding with architectural design, code quality assurance, and agile collaboration, the position ensures that technical solutions are robust, future-proof, and aligned with business needs. It also plays a key role in modernizing legacy systems, mentoring junior developers, and fostering a culture of innovation and compliance. The position is needed to maintain technical excellence, reduce risks, and support sustainable growth through efficient and secure software practices.

Your Impact:

• Application Development & Testing: Independently implement tasks for application/service development, including automated testing, with a strong focus on performance and scalability.

• Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with the Scrum team on feature grooming, maintain technical documentation (including UML), and contribute to coding standards and software quality.

• Code Quality & Modernization: Conduct code reviews, pair programming, refactor legacy code, and apply modern architectural principles for continuous improvement.

• Innovation & Risk Management: Introduce new technologies, tools, and methods, while identifying and managing technical risks, including time and resource estimation.

• Leadership & Compliance: Mentor junior developers, ensure adherence to regulations and standards, and optimize resource utilization effectively.

Your Experience and Qualifications:

• Education & Training: Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent IT training.

• Technical Expertise: Strong experience in software development within agile teams, with deep knowledge of software architecture, application design, OOP, and design patterns.

• Leadership & Modern Development: Proven ability in technical leadership, refactoring legacy systems, and hands-on experience with modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript) and frameworks like React or Vue.js.

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Proficient in relational and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization (Docker), cluster technologies, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Enterprise).

• Methodologies & Communication: Strong understanding of agile practices (SAFe, Scrum) and excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

AGCO Shared Service Center (SSC) is located at Office Garden in the 11th district, in one of the most dynamically developing areas of Budapest providing global support to all AGCO global factories and sites in Finance, HR, IT, Purchasing, Customer Experience and Engineering functions. The office is easily accessible by car and public transport. Restaurants, cafés and a shopping centre are also located around the office.
