In this role, you will join the Top-of-Rack (ToR) Infrastructure team to connect servers driving Google's global services, Cloud, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) platforms to the network. You will manage Top-of-Rack switch infrastructure and life-cycle engineering, acting as the nexus between compute and the network fabric. The TILES (Tor Infrastructure Life-cycle Engineering and Scheduling) team delivers scalable, on-time server-to-fabric connectivity, robust capacity management and cross fabric network aware scheduling and addressing challenges across key pillars:
Model server and rack network components and manage life-cycle engineering. Design and model ToR to fabric connections and uplink topology, optimize network bandwidth utilization, and create bandwidth policies for Google services and customers. You will ensure ToR availability, health, and operations, and manage network-aware scheduling to schedule jobs in real-time.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
