We are looking for a Software Engineer III – Agent Integration to build and scale Wati’s integrations with the emerging AI agent ecosystem.
In this role, you will develop APIs, tools, and integration layers that allow AI agents to interact with Wati’s conversational platform. This includes enabling agents to access messaging capabilities, automate customer engagement, and orchestrate business workflows.
You will work on building agent-native interfaces, including tool APIs, MCP-compatible integrations, and context-aware workflows that allow agents to operate effectively within real business environments.
This role sits at the intersection of AI agents, developer platforms, and conversational business workflows.
• Build agent-facing APIs, SDKs, and integrations that allow AI agents to interact with Wati’s messaging platform
• Design and implement agent tool interfaces, including support for MCP (Model Context Protocol) and other agent integration standards
• Develop systems that support context engineering, enabling agents to access conversation history, customer data, and business context
• Build scalable architectures that support AI-driven workflows and automation across messaging, CRM-like workflows, and business processes
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to enable AI-native product capabilities powered by agent interactions
• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of agent integration infrastructure
Requirements
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend development skills
• Experience building APIs, developer platforms, or integration frameworks
• Familiarity with AI agent architectures, tool calling, or LLM-based systems
• Experience with MCP, agent tooling, or AI workflow orchestration is a strong plus
• Understanding of context engineering, prompt design, or structured tool interfaces for LLM systems
• Familiarity with modern cloud architectures and distributed backend systems
• Strong problem-solving ability and ability to work in fast-paced environments
• Ability to understand real business workflows such as customer engagement, messaging operations, or sales automation
• Strong ownership and bias for action in a fast-moving environment
• Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working across teams to drive outcomes
• AI-native mindset, actively experimenting with agent frameworks, AI tools, and emerging technologies
