About the Role
We are looking for a Software Design Engineer in Test to join our engineering
team in Prague. This role blends hands-on manual testing with test automation—
initially split roughly 50/50—with a clear path toward increasing automation
responsibility as our frameworks and processes mature. You will collaborate
closely with colleagues in the United States, working across a 7-hour time
difference to ensure seamless communication and delivery.

You will join a small, growing team currently consisting of one engineer and a lead,
with plans to expand. As the team matures, you will be part of setting up our
quality strategy and contribute to shaping how we approach testing and
automation across web and mobile platforms. As a healthcare company, the work
you do will have a meaningful indirect impact on people's quality of life - helping
ensure that our members receive reliable, high-quality digital health experiences.

What You Will Do

• Work in an agile environment using Scrum or Scrumban methodologies
• Perform hands-on manual testing, including test case design, exploratory testing, and thorough bug reporting
• Develop and maintain test automation for web and mobile platforms as frameworks mature
• Collaborate daily with developers to understand system changes and ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across time zones and teams
• Contribute to stabilizing and improving automation frameworks and QA processes
• Monitor emerging trends and innovations in testing and quality engineering, implementing improvements where appropriate
• Contribute to quality initiatives and help define the team's quality strategy
  

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong foundation in manual testing
• Proven skills in test case design, exploratory testing, and clear, actionable bug reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong knowledge of software quality methodologies, testing strategies, and the software development life cycle
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and practices
• Experience with or a strong interest in test automation using Python or TypeScript (Playwright or similar frameworks a plus)
• Familiarity with mobile testing (iOS and/or Android)
• Ability to work until 7 PM CET a couple of times a week, to overlap with the US- based teams; otherwise, flexible working hours
• Experience working effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in a collaborative manner
• A proactive mindset with a drive to grow from manual testing into automation
