Short Description


• Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer (Software Engineer)
• Location: Irving, Texas, USA

• Reports To: Senior Manager of Cloud Operations and Support
• Role Type: Individual Contributor
Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot public cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/GCP/AZURE) including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, and backups. You must have the ability to plan and implement changes to the cloud platform infrastructure, microservices, and applications in accordance with the Cloud Change Management process. You should be the go-to person for troubleshooting, debugging, and technically leading the team in day-to-day activities as well as mentoring others.

About the Opportunity
Avaya is looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Solutions and Technology business unit. As a member of the core R&D and operations wing, you will maintain real-time communication infrastructure and solutions deployed in the cloud. You will work closely with Reference Architecture, Automation, and Development teams to ensure reliable functioning of cloud services.

About the Responsibilities
• Ensure the cloud platform is always stable, up, and running.
• Maintain continuous availability, durability, and scale of the platform.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and provide technical leadership and mentoring.
• Perform command-and-control activities for service restoration.
• Participate in 24x7 support for internal and external customers.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and follow-up on incident resolution.
• Assist stakeholders with application deployment and implement security remediations.

About the Requirements
• Experience: 8+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations and maintenance.
• Cloud Platforms: Extensive knowledge of AWS, GCP, or AZURE.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Linux/Windows, monolithic or microservice architectures, and migrating enterprise-class infrastructure to the cloud.
• Tools: Proficiency with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK.
• Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CNIs, and load balancers.
• Automation: Experience with infrastructure design and automation using scripting, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Education: BE / B.Tech or ME / M.Tech.
