Job Description

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Corporate and Investment Banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

Post Trade Technology is responsible for mainly for middle to back office systems in Corporate and Investment Banking, specifically trade allocation, books and records, clearing, regulatory reporting and reconciliations. Post Trade Technology Japan supports not only JPMSJ, but JPMCB and Mansart Japan. The team mainly manages local systems for Equity, Fixed Income trade confirmations and settlements, Fund Management system, Future & Options, FX and Cash Payment related co-working closely with global teams. Post Trade Technology Japan aligns global organization, global communication is a key as a team. The team works with vendors, global Operate team, global Application Development teams as well Japan and Offshore Operations to understand business background, then deliver projects.


Responsibilities

  • Provide Application Development/3rd level support for confirmation and settlement systems for mainly Equity / Fixed Income, working with the vendors to solve issues to prevent impact to the business
  • Interpret business requirements, work with global teams and possibly with vendors to develop solutions
  • Manage vendors in English / Japanese
  • Manage projects to support the business mainly for Japan
  • Manage Resiliency, Stability and Capacity for our systems
  • Handle Regular Regulatory / Audit requirement management (in English and Japanese)
  • Perform SIT testing of software delivered by inhouse or by the vendors
  • Manage UAT environments, coordinating testing with the business
  • Coordinate production releases with the support team

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bilingual English and Japanese speaker, preferably withgood Read/Write level in Japanese.
  • Familiarity with working in a global multi-national organization and culture
  • Knowledge of finance area such as Equity, Fixed Income in Japan is preferable
  • Familiarity with Japan finance regulatory requirements and environment will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with managing applications running on Unix/Linux or any Cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with Database (any DB is fine), Unix scripting, MQ/UM
  • Understanding of project management and software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Development background (any objective languages) very desirable
  • Familiarity with any of FinTech or any of AI / ML background is desirable

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong coordination skills with multiple teams within and outside of Japan in multi languages
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under extreme pressure and stress
  • Ability to work in a close relationship with end users
  • Vendor management experience desirable
  • Preferable to have experience in Operations systems in an investment banking environment
  • Team player, Self-motivated and the person being interested in Latest Technology
