Your day-to-day will include:

  • Design and deliver core structural simulationcapabilities within the Crash & Safety R&Dteam—emphasizing robust algorithms, scalable performance, andproductiongradereliability for highfidelitycrash and safety analyses

  • Implementhighqualitysoftware in C/C++ andPython(APIs, libraries, automation) with clean architecture, tests, and documentation

  • Contribute to HPC scaling—multithreading, distributed memory (MPI), and GPUacceleration—along with memoryefficientdata structuresandcacheawaredesign.

  • Advance capabilities in nonlinear behavior(material plasticity/damage, large deformations), contact mechanics, and transient/explicit dynamicsfor crashworthiness

  • Collaboratecrossfunctionallywith product, QA, and application engineering to ensure industrial robustnessand customer impac

Qualifications you need to have:

  • MEng/PhD in Mechanical or Civil Engineering(or closely relatedfield)

  • Strong foundationin continuum mechanics & FEA theory

  • Handson with transient analysis and numerical method

  • Knowledge of modern C++ or Python

  • Clear communication in English, ownership mindset, and collaborative approach

Qualificationsthatwill be considered

  • Experience with commercial/industrial FEA codes (e.g., LSDYNA, Abaqus, Nastran, OptiStructetc.) and mesh/geometry pipelines

  • Experience withLinux, Git, CMake, and unit testing

  • Performance optimization (vectorization, cacheawareand lockfreedesign) and parallelization (OpenMP/MPI; CUDA/OpenCLa plus)

  • Knowledge of ANSA/META/SPDRMuser workflows; CAD/mesh generation, model preparation, and testtosimulationcorrelation

  • Background in explicit time integrationfor crash, contact algorithms, material failure models, and stability control(e.g., bulk viscosity, hourglass control).
