Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer II - Dev Accelerator based in Canada.
This is an opportunity to join a developer-focused engineering team building the internal platform that enables more than 100 engineers to design, build, test, and ship software efficiently and safely.
You’ll contribute to high-impact initiatives spanning developer tooling, CI/CD, testing infrastructure, shared libraries, and cloud-native systems.
The role combines hands-on software engineering with the opportunity to shape how developers and AI agents interact with engineering platforms.
You’ll work across technologies including Python, Go, Bazel, Kubernetes, AWS, and modern CI systems.
As an individual contributor, you’ll take ownership of significant projects and help create scalable, intuitive “golden path” workflows.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and other technical teams in a highly innovative environment.
The position is fully remote in Canada and offers the opportunity to influence engineering practices at scale.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, enhance, and operate internal developer platforms that improve the productivity, reliability, and safety of engineering teams.
- Own high-impact, multi-quarter initiatives across CLI tooling, CI/CD, shared libraries, test infrastructure, and developer workflows.
- Build and improve tools and abstractions that make the preferred engineering path faster, more reliable, and easier to use.
- Work across Python, Go, Bazel, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI systems to deliver robust developer experiences.
- Design workflows and platform capabilities that are increasingly AI-native and usable by both software engineers and AI agents.
- Contribute to initiatives such as automated code generation, large-scale migrations, testing frameworks, environment tooling, and engineering automation.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and other partner teams to deliver solutions aligned with broader engineering objectives.
- Take ownership of technical decisions and deliver projects from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and ongoing improvement.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or in a comparable technical role.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered engineering tools throughout software development, including discovery, design, implementation, testing, and rollout.
- Experience with, or strong interest in, applying LLMs to developer productivity and engineering workflows, such as failure summarization, intelligent code generation, or AI-native CLI experiences.
- Familiarity with Python, Go, Bazel, AWS, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions is highly valuable.
- Experience building or maintaining CLI tools, developer scaffolding systems, internal frameworks, or reusable engineering platforms is preferred.
- Experience with test data management, integration or end-to-end testing infrastructure, test coverage tooling, or automated detection of unreliable tests is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with CLI development, YAML/Jinja2-style templating, modern Python typing practices, and frameworks such as pytest, Ginkgo, or comparable testing tools is beneficial.
- Experience developing shared libraries and services using technologies such as gRPC or HTTP, as well as authoring reusable CI/CD workflows, is a plus.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving ability, collaboration skills, and enthusiasm for improving developer experiences are important for success in this role.
Benefits:
- Fully remote work opportunity in Canada.
- Competitive base salary, with compensation dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
- Equity participation and eligibility for an annual bonus.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunity to work on innovative AI and cybersecurity technologies.
- High-impact projects that directly improve engineering productivity across the organization.
- Collaborative environment working with experienced teams across engineering, infrastructure, SRE, security, and product development.
- Opportunities to develop expertise in AI-native software development and modern developer-platform technologies.
- Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and professional growth.
