About This Role
This Software Engineering role is within Textron System’s Uncrewed Land and Air Systems division. Our team is engaged in multiple cutting-edge development programs for defense applications. A strong candidate will possess a solid knowledge base in software development and design best practices.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
·Providing engineering support on both current and next generation technologies in support of our family of uncrewed ground and air products
oOur products are entire systems ranging from the vehicle platforms to their control stations
·Participating in software development of new products across all phases of the product lifecycle from concept development to lab and offsite integration and evaluation
oRequirements, design, implementation, review, testing, and documentation
·Integrating internal and third-party software solutions into our products
·Collaborating with the software engineering team and other engineering disciplines to create functional systems
·Supporting onsite & offsite integration and test support

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field required with 2+ years of experience or master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field in addition to the following skills/experience:
·Required:
oC/C++ programming experience
oExperience using Unix based operating systems
oBasic shell scripting experience
oKnowledgeable of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA)/Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
oExperience using configuration management tools such as Git or Mercurial
oTraveling up to 15% of the time
oEligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance
·Preferred:
oExperience integrating or designing autonomous solutions for land and/or air platforms
§Experience with MicroPilot’s autopilot software
§Experience with MOOS DB/IvP
oExperience with Qt projects/libraries
oExperience with OpenDDS
oExperience with containerization platforms such as Docker
oExperience with Network/Serial/CAN interface development
oExperience frontend technologies including (but not limited to) CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API, databases (SQL or NoSQL), and web UI design
oExperience with automation build servers such as Jenkins
oExperience with workflow management tools such as Jira
oExperience with static code analysis tools such as Coverity
oExperience developing MCP Servers and MCP Tools for use with LMMs
oExperience with AI software development and workflow tools
