Job Description

FrontEnd Developer Sr

Senior Developer to help enhance and extend our internal developer platform. This role will focus on developing and customizing Backstage capabilities, building integrations with cloud and DevOps tools, and creating a streamlined developer experience across engineering teams.
The ideal candidate combines strong React and TypeScript development skills with experience integrating cloud-native applications, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling within a modern platform engineering environment.

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with React
  • Strong experience with TypeScript (JavaScript experience required).
  • Experience integrating applications with AWS services.
  • Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency with Git and modern source control workflows.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and system integrations.
  • Understanding of cloud-native application development and deployment practices.
Soft Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of features and deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive approach to clarifying requirements and identifying risks.
  • Ability to document solutions clearly using written documentation, diagrams, and examples.
  • Comfortable collaborating in distributed and multilingual teams.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Backstage development, customization, or administration.
  • Experience building or extending Backstage plugins.
  • Experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Platform Engineering or Developer Experience (DevEx) background.
  • Kubernetes and containerization experience.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, customize, and maintain Backstage plugins, components, and integrations.
  • Design and build user-facing features using React and TypeScript.
  • Integrate Backstage with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and internal engineering tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable platform solutions.
  • Build and maintain APIs and services that support Backstage functionality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and implementation guides.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to platform engineering best practices.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
