We're looking for a Experience reviewing code to find and address potential issues and defects Experience building scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems Backend Software Engineer to join the GrabDefence team in Bangalore, India. You will design backend systems that power our defence and security solutions. You will work with a talented team of engineers to build scalable, efficient, and secure infrastructure that protects our users and organisation.

Get to Know the Role:

As a Backend Software Engineer on the GrabDefence team, you will help develop the backend systems that protect Grab's platform, users, and financial ecosystem. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, learning from experienced teammates, and contributing to products that operate at large-scale. You will be reporting to Senior Software Engineering Manager, Trust. You will work with software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and security partners. Together, you will develop services that power capabilities such as name screening, transaction screening, fraud detection and prevention, and other risk management solutions. In addition to building new features, you will help ensure our systems remain reliable through operational support, maintenance, bug fixing, and participation in the team's on-call rotation.We are looking for someone with a engineering foundation, curiosity to learn, and experience building scalable, reliable backend systems. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, of your work, and both the products you build and your technical skills. The company bases this role in Bangalore.

The Critical Tasks You will Perform:

• You will design scalable backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks
• You will architect microservices-based solutions that meet performance and reliability requirements
• You will improve database queries and design efficient data models for both SQL and NoSQL databases
• You will collaborate with teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• You will implement security best practices and conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and system integrity
• You will maintain comprehensive unit tests and integration tests to ensure code reliability
• You will participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical documentation

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You will Need

• 2+ years of related work experience in a similar capacity
• Proficiency in GoLang for developing and enhancing software applications.
• Architecture mindset: Experience designing scalable and maintainable architectures.
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies to manage tasks.
• Automation: Proficiency in using tools and scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
• Code Reviews: Experience conducting code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Experience analysingcomplex issues and solving them.
• Experience collaborating and communicating updates and resolutions discussions with multiple teams for partnership.
• Experience in Security Practices understanding best practices for coding and security guidelines.
• Stay current with new technologies and integrate them into your work.
