
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts
Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment
Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderately complex projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that are related to low to medium risk deliverables and that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains
Present recommendations for resolving issues or may escalate issues as needed to meet established service level agreements
Exercise some independent judgment while also developing understanding of given technology domain in reference to security and compliance requirements
Provide information to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
BigQuery, Dataproc / Apache Spark, Bigtable, Dataplex / Data Catalog
Python (ETL/ELT pipelines and automation)
SQL (data transformation, validation, and reconciliation)
Databases: MySQL, Hive, MongoDB
Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow
Kafka and Google Pub/Sub
Apigee / REST APIs (data extraction and integration)
GenAI (LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering) and how they integrate with data platforms
Experience or familiarity with Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, or GenAI‑enabled data services on GCP (preferred but not mandatory)
Design and execute comprehensive data migration strategies from on‑premises, legacy platforms, or other cloud environments to GCP.
Migrate structured and semi‑structured data to BigQuery, Bigtable, and other GCP storage solutions.
Build, optimize, and maintain scalable migration pipelines using Python, SQL, and distributed processing frameworks on Dataproc (Apache Spark).
Implement batch and streaming migration patterns using Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), Kafka, and Google Pub/Sub.
Perform schema mapping, data transformation, reconciliation, and validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of migrated datasets.
Leverage GenAI and automation techniques to accelerate data discovery, schema understanding, mapping recommendations, and migration assessments.
Apply GenAI‑assisted data transformation, code generation, and migration pattern optimization where applicable (e.g., SQL conversion, pipeline scaffolding, test case generation).
Enable metadata management, lineage, and governance using Dataplex and Data Catalog.
Handle large‑volume data transfers using industry best practices such as parallel loading, incremental loads, and CDC where applicable.
