Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI with Active Full Scope Polygraph
This is not a remote or hybrid position. All work is performed on-site within a SCIF at Columbia, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD.
We are seeking two cleared Software Engineers (Level 2) to support software development and full life cycle testing of mission systems on TTO4 within the FURIOUSRAPTOR program at Columbia, MD / Annapolis Junction, MD. This is an on-site position in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment requiring a TS/SCI clearance with an active Full Scope Polygraph prior to consideration - no exceptions.
The selected engineers will be Software Engineers performing as Software Test Engineers on a development team. Required experience supports software development and full life cycle testing of mission systems including the design, development, and maintenance of test plans, cases, and processes; the creation and maintenance of test environments and automated test capabilities; the performance of Integration & Testing (I&T) and Acceptance Testing; and the reporting and tracking of problems through their resolution. Working knowledge of test automation using Python, performance/load/stress testing, data interface testing, user interface testing, security testing, code coverage tools, and systems integration testing is required. Experience related to the installation, configuration, management, and enhancement of software applications, LINUX systems, and connected network components is also required.
This role works individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to design requirements, document test results, resolve software problem reports, and apply software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. The engineer also provides specific input to the software components of system design - including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS use in lieu of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test processes for mission system software across the full software life cycle
Create and maintain test environments and automated test capabilities; develop and maintain test automation primarily in Python
Perform Integration & Testing (I&T) and Acceptance Testing of mission system components and end-to-end workflows
Conduct performance, load, and stress testing; user interface testing; data interface testing; security testing; and systems integration testing
Apply code coverage tools and analyze results to drive test completeness and defect detection
Report and track software problems through resolution; document test results and contribute to defect triage
Support installation, configuration, management, and enhancement of software applications, LINUX systems, and connected network components in support of the test mission
Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design
Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints
Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries; develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards; confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigate problem areas
Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces
Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
Debug existing software and correct defects
Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
Write and review software and system documentation
Perform quality control on team products
Provide and implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on the project
Oversee one or more software development teams as needed and ensure work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used
Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and design reviews; collaborate with backend, frontend, infrastructure, and test engineering teams
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional Software Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Experience: Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. At least six (6) years of that SWE experience must be in software testing (test plan/case/process design, test automation development, I&T, Acceptance Testing, performance/load/stress testing, security testing, or systems integration testing).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph - no exceptions; must be active prior to start
On-site availability at Columbia, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD in a SCIF environment
Demonstrated experience supporting software development and full life cycle testing of mission systems
Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test plans, cases, and processes
Hands-on experience creating and maintaining test environments and automated test capabilities
Test automation development experience using Python
Performance, load, and stress testing experience
Data interface testing and user interface testing experience
Security testing experience
Experience with code coverage tools
Systems integration testing experience
