BigQuery is one of the leaders in the data warehousing space. As we learned in recent years, most of the queries users run are working on small datasets. The trend is so profound that some ex-BigQuery leaders even start new businesses to solve that exact use case (e.g.
big data is dead). Our mission is to make BigQuery the best solution for those workloads.
In this role, you will build optimizations to solve parts of this problem, that small queries on industry benchmarks can execute an order of magnitude faster if we cut overhead and optimize execution, as a result, half of BigQuery queries could run over 50% faster, closing a major competitive gap.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
