Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Experience with machine learning.
• Experience with distributed processing and data warehousing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, building ML platforms and Applied ML.
• Experience with distributed systems and services.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python programming.

BigQuery AI/ML is on a mission to democratize AI and ML. It takes away all the complexity and challenge of doing AI and ML and reduces it down to a few lines of SQL statements to train and predict machine learning models. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of system components, AI/ML algorithms and more to advance BigQuery's capabilities.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in these areas.
• Drive technical discussions within the team, proposing new ideas, and sharing knowledge to improve the team's overall effectiveness.
• Promote engineering excellence within the team by adhering to best practices, coding standards, and software engineering principles.
