What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems and services that drive core product functionality.
• Contribute to data engineering efforts, including developing pipelines and infrastructure that support scalable data flows.
• Collaborate closely with a senior engineering team to make architectural decisions that significantly influence the product's evolution.
• Write clean, well-tested Python code and take ownership of the entire lifecycle of the features and systems you develop.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and scalability challenges as the product matures.
• Work at the intersection of backend and data engineering, contributing to both domains.

Ideal Candidate Background

• Proven experience as a backend or data engineer with strong proficiency in Python.
• Significant experience in backend engineering or data infrastructure, including designing and maintaining backend services or APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to build or maintain data ingestion pipelines and distributed data systems in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and distributed architectures.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.

Preferred

• Exposure to healthcare data systems or experience with EHRs and claims/financial data.
• Familiarity with pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Experience integrating multiple external systems or APIs.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this role ranges from $180,000 to $280,000, commensurate with experience and contributions. This position offers the chance to join a small, senior team where your work will help shape the foundation of the product and engineering culture.
