Job Description

Do you love film, tech and building innovative solutions? Are you driven by building stable, modern systems, and would you like to join a team where film quotes fly and the next big premiere is always up for discussion? This is your chance to combine your passion for tech with the magic of film!

SF Studios is looking for a Software Engineer to help shape the future of streaming and film experiences. Whether you prefer action, drama or sci-fi, this is a role where you can make a real difference. So, are you ready for the next chapter in your career?

The role covers both SF Studios and SF Anytime. You’ll join a tight-knit, highly skilled team with many years of experience. What we all share is a strong interest in tech, film and series. The team has an open, non-hierarchical culture, which gives you plenty of room to influence where development goes next and to contribute to the company’s continued success. It’s a dynamic environment where you can help create magic, both at home and on the global stage.

The role

You’ll be part of a central development team that works across both SF Studios and SF Anytime and owns the full lifecycle of our services, from code to infrastructure and operations. You’ll work with a wide range of technologies, such as .NET, MongoDB, SQL Server, Docker, AWS, Terraform, GitHub and GitHub Actions, and Splunk. We also use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code in our day-to-day work. Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building robust, scalable and highly available APIs
  • Building, maintaining and operating our cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure as code
  • Improving our CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting to keep our services reliable in production
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external-facing applications, including back-office systems for the business
  • Building agentic workflows and integrations, such as MCP servers
  • Working with other developers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver the best possible customer experience

We have an office-first policy, which means the role is based at our office in Hagastaden five days a week.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we believe you:

  • Have at least a couple of years’ experience with .NET and feel at home in that environment
  • Have solid experience with AWS (experience with Azure or GCP is also a plus)
  • Have experience with both relational and document databases
  • Speak Swedish – you don’t need to be fluent, but it’s a must – and have strong spoken and written English, as both languages are used every day

It’s a plus if you have

  • experience with streaming services
  • experience building large-scale, distributed systems
  • experience with data warehouse solutions and system integration
  • knowledge of React

As a person, you’re highly committed to your work and enjoy being part of a team. You are comfortable taking ownership and independently driving initiatives through to completion. At the same time, you actively engage with stakeholders across the business to gather input, discuss solutions and ensure that what we build meets real business needs. Furthermore, you work efficiently and have good business sense. You can argue the case for your own solution, while also being quick to acknowledge when someone else’s idea works better. You have a structured approach, take initiative and see problem-solving as something fun and challenging.
