Smart Infrastructure – Electrification & Automation

The Role

Our division delivers systems that monitor, analyse and manage electrical equipment across building, industrial facilities and infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and Macau. Our clients rely on this data to reduce energy consumption, anticipate equipment failure and integrate renewable energy into their operations.

We are seeking a developer to build the software layer behind these solutions, you will begin with the reporting and data analysis tools that turn raw equipment data into insight for our clients, and develop these into full client-facing applications as the business grows.

This role suits someone who wants their software work grounded in a technical industry rather than in software alone. You will be trained in power systems from the ground up by an experienced solutions specialist.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the business development in Smart Power Distribution and Smart Grid applications solutions within Smart Infrastructure – Electrification & Automation Business Unit. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop the on premises/ cloud user application to support the business development and sales activities in HK and Macau market
  • Assist the Sales Manager in developing Smart power distribution and Smart Grid solutions and develop automated reporting and data analysis tools that turn raw equipment data into clear, client-ready reports
  • Execute the pioneer solution projects, including but not limited to Energy Monitoring, Asset Condition and Performance management, Microgrid, Renewable integrations and BESS…etc
  • Provide technical and project support to clients on trouble shooting
  • Able to support software configuration, PLC programming, application development, patch deployment and system integration testing.
  • Perform site testing and commissioning, and services support
  • Manage project documentation and technical drawings in accordance with internal ISO system, safety, health, environmental and quality requirements
  • Support sales enquiry and / or variation in projects and working together with Sales/ Project Manager for tender preparation
  • Comply with ISO9000, safety regulations and quality system within division

Requirements:

Individuals who meet the following requirements or possess the equivalent combination of competence and experience are invited to apply:

  • Degree holder in Engineering , Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering and other equivalent disciplines
  • 2 years of working experience in engineering field/ IT industry with hands-on software development experience and Front-end or back-end web development experience is a plus. Promising candidates with less experience will be also considered as Assistant System Engineer.
  • Knowledge and experience in Power industry, particularly in industrial IoT (iIoT)/ PLC System / Protection and Control System and Secondary Equipment testing would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, or experience applying AI to data analysis, is a plus
  • Good communication skill and high initiative to take up challenges
  • Passionate and eager to learn, can work independently with customer focus, and a genuine interest in the power and energy industry
  • Well-versed in MS Office and AutoCAD applications
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin

Technical Exposure

  • Working alongside our solutions specialists and on live client sites, you will gain hands-on exposure to:
  • Substation automation systems
  • Industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and IEC 61850
  • Industrial IoT (iIoT) and time-series data platforms
  • To convergence of IT and operational technology (OT), including security considerations specific to industrial networks
