The Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer / Network Technician to support the delivery, sustainment and enhancement of complex ICT and communications capabilities within a Defence environment.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the operational readiness, integration, governance and lifecycle management of mission-critical ICT systems. The role combines technical engineering expertise with system sustainment responsibilities, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, interoperable and fit for operational use.
You will support a broad range of activities including system integration, software and network support, verification and validation, configuration management, compliance and accreditation activities, capability enhancements and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with technical teams, project stakeholders and industry partners, you will help deliver and sustain critical ICT capabilities throughout their lifecycle.
This position offers the opportunity to work across both operational support and project delivery environments, contributing to the ongoing evolution, performance and reliability of complex Defence systems.
Location: Williamtown, NSW (Remote may also be considered). Security Clearance: Candidates must hold a current NV2 Security Clearance
About You
You are an experienced ICT professional with a background in software engineering, network engineering or systems engineering, and a strong understanding of complex ICT environments.
You will demonstrate experience in:
Highly regarded candidates will possess experience in Defence ICT environments, systems assurance, accreditation frameworks, software delivery, network design and support, systems engineering or integrated lifecycle management.
You will have strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide practical technical advice, manage competing priorities and contribute to the successful delivery and sustainment of complex ICT capabilities.
