Media, Graphics and Compute Technology (MGC) provides the media and graphics foundation across all of Apple’s innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, AirPod and Mac. The Streaming Media Engineering team within MGC delivers the technology that powers the media playback experience on both 1st party and 3rd party devices via AirPlay. We are looking for a highly motivated software engineer to support us in the design and development of our next generation of AirPlay Experience across the Apple Ecosystem.

The Streaming Media Engineering team is seeking a talented and motivated senior media application engineer to help lead the design and implementation of AirPlay on third-party devices. You will work cross-functionally with a wide range of design and engineering teams to develop new features and APIs for adoption by third-party partners. You will take technical ownership across key areas of the team’s work, collaborating closely with engineering and the design teams to deliver polished, high quality AirPlay experience that reach billions of customers globally.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with audio and video codecs such as H.264/HEVC/AAC/AV1.

Experience with networking protocols.

Knowledge of adaptive streaming technologies such as HLS or DASH.

Experience using HTML5 based video playback technologies such as MSE and EME.

Experience with mobile devices, embedded devices, and media players.

Minimum Qualifications

BS or MS in CS/CE or equivalent, and 8+ years of programming experience, with demonstrated proficiency across C/C++, Objective-C, and JavaScript.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Demonstrated technical leadership experience.

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Actively uses GenAI tools (code assistants, agents) in daily engineering workflow.
