Software Engineer - AI/ML - 14+ yrs of Experience - TS/SCI w/Poly Required Halogen Engineering is looking for a Software Engineer who will work to help design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions and prototypes. You will also work in a Full Stack development environment requiring proficiency in LINUX and basic Networking skills. This will involve customizing access and interfaces with a Large Language Model (LLM) tailored for the customer and related requirement types and users. Location: Fort Meade, MD Travel Required: No Shift: Day Remote Type: Onsite Security Clearance: Current TS/SCI Polygraph: Required Salary Range The projected compensation range for this position is 217K- 230K (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements Capabilities 1) Design, develop software applications using Gradle Java, Python 2) Gather and evaluate end-user and customer requirements 3)Write, test, debug and deploy code 4) Perform code reviews to maintain quality 5) Troubleshoot and resolve defects and performance issues 6)Contribute to project planning 7)Collaborate with product managers, developers, SMEs, and leadership contributing to strategic initiatives 8)Design user interface to be widely accessible across the customer community 9)Explore LLM and AI integration opportunities 10) Design interfaces/bridge to external requirements management tools 11)Mentor junior software engineers. Requirements Requirements Artificial Intelligence, Python, Gradle Java, JSON, Vue, Node.js, Git / Gitlab, Agile, CI/CD, Testing, Debugging, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Full-stack development Must be compliant with DoD8570 IAT2. Qualifications Fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SW experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
