As a Software Engineer within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting PNC's Data & Analytics (DnA) organization by designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications and agentic systems that leverage large language models (LLMs), orchestration frameworks, and enterprise data platforms. You will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.
In addition to development responsibilities, you will monitor production AI solutions, analyze performance and telemetry metrics, identify optimization opportunities, and implement enhancements to improve reliability, efficiency, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, test, and deploy AI agents and GenAI-driven applications.
• Develop agentic workflows utilizing modern orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph and LangChain.
• Build integrations with internal and external systems through REST APIs and other service interfaces.
• Implement and support Model Context Protocol (MCP) based solutions and integrations.
• Develop AI-powered automation solutions for data and analytics use cases.
• Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize AI models and measure business impact.
• Monitor deployed AI agents using observability and telemetry tools to evaluate performance, reliability, and usage patterns.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain AI applications in production environments.
• Partner with data engineers and analytics teams to automate and enhance data workflows.
• Contribute to best practices for AI engineering, model governance, scalability, and software development.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
• Hands-on experience developing applications in Python.
• Experience building or integrating AI, machine learning, Generative AI, or LLM-based solutions.
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph and/or LangChain.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts and AI tool integrations.
• Experience deploying and supporting production software solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Experience building autonomous or agentic AI systems.
• Experience with PySpark and/or data engineering pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development and AI services.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, telemetry, and operational analytics.

Base Salary: $75,000.00 – $137,500.00Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
Generally, this opening is expected to be posted for two business days from 08/17/2026, although it may be longer with business discretion.
