Role purpose Engineer, test, deploy and maintain dependable software components and applications supporting business and operational needs, working closely with the wider development team. Key responsibilities · Develop, test and maintain applications, services and software components. · Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer reviews. · Build and support APIs, integrations and database queries. · Investigate defects, troubleshoot issues and improve reliability. · Support unit/integration testing, deployments and documentation. · Work with analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements. · Participate in Agile planning and continuous improvement. Requirements Proposed candidate requirements · Relevant IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering qualification or equivalent experience. · Indicatively 3–5 years of development experience, subject to role grading. · Proficiency in the confirmed programming languages/frameworks (not yet specified). · Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, Git and software testing. · Familiarity with Agile delivery and the software development lifecycle. · Analytical ability, collaboration and clear communication. · Required: practical software engineering experience in tolling, ETC, ITS, road traffic technology or closely related transport infrastructure systems.
