Job Description

LGT Wealth Management was formed around a clear and uncompromising vision – to bring global best practice in building institutional quality investment portfolios to Australian clients.

With a shared passion for building an uncompromised business – we created something new from the ground up. A chance to leave behind the things that weren’t working, while enhancing the things that were. Our authentic and personalised client-first commitment. Our entrepreneurial spirit. Our focus in best-in-class advice. And our intimate understanding of the Australian private wealth landscape.

In 2022 we became a part of the LGT Group, who shared our entrepreneurial spirit, long-term approach and private-ownership model. Today, with the global expertise, stability, and capability of LGT behind us, we can work without being reliant on markets or margins, with a singular focus on giving our clients the advice and deep expertise they need for generations to come.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Platform Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll create reusable technology that helps engineering teams deliver secure, reliable solutions more efficiently.

Why the role matters

Your work will improve engineering consistency, reduce duplication and strengthen the platforms used across the organisation. You’ll collaborate with software and quality engineers, architects, cloud and infrastructure specialists, security professionals, product owners, business analysts and delivery teams.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence how technology is designed, built, adopted and supported, while contributing to a collaborative culture focused on ownership, pragmatism and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, test and maintain platform products, internal tools and shared services.
  • Develop frontend experiences, including internal applications, developer portals, dashboards and self-service workflows.
  • Create backend services, APIs, integrations and automation supporting shared engineering capabilities.
  • Improve developer experience through reusable components, templates, CI/CD tooling and streamlined workflows.
  • Strengthen reliability through testing, monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and production support.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, security and delivery stakeholders to create secure, scalable and supportable solutions.

What you’ll bring

You’re a collaborative and pragmatic software engineer who enjoys solving problems across the full stack. You consider the long-term quality and supportability of the solutions you build and can clearly communicate technical risks, dependencies and trade-offs.

Essential

  • Commercial software engineering experience across frontend and backend development.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining software solutions.
  • Knowledge of APIs, integrations, reusable components and maintainable solution design.
  • A commitment to secure coding, automated testing, code quality and operational stability.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent practical software engineering experience.

Nice to have

  • Certification in cloud platforms, software engineering, DevOps, Agile, security or container technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation or release processes.
  • Exposure to platform engineering, developer portals or self-service tooling.
  • Experience supporting monitoring, observability or production incident resolution.

LGT Wealth Management is committed to the ongoing development of their employees. Your development will be managed and tailored to your role and future career path.
