Your career opportunity

Join our Markets and Securities Services technology organisation, where we operate like a technology company within the bank and build modern engineering solutions that support HSBC’s wider strategy. You’ll work in a DevOps and Agile environment, helping teams deliver customer-facing and colleague-facing platforms including our on-premises digital platform, HSBC Evolve, research content delivery, and next-generation AI and ML tools. You’ll be part of a global department of around 450 people across seven locations, working in flexible, self-organising teams where learning through experimentation is encouraged.

What you’ll do

• Work within a team of 4 to 6 engineers with a dedicated Product Owner, sometimes collaborating across geographies
• Translate business requirements into user stories and deliver them iteratively into production
• Own end-to-end delivery in a DevOps model, where the team that builds the product also supports it
• Provide ongoing product support and operational readiness for the services your team delivers
• Identify and address technical debt, balancing debt reduction with delivery of new functionality
• Design solutions for new items, ensuring alignment with technology guidelines and constraints
• Pair with other engineers to improve quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to fast, accessible, standards-based web delivery with a strong focus on customer outcomes

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Willingness to learn multiple programming languages as required by the team and platform
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in at least one programming language
• Experience or strong capability in Java and or JavaScript for client and server development
• Working knowledge of Unix and comfort operating in command-line environments
• Understanding of databases from a consumer perspective, including how applications interact with data stores
• Knowledge of HTTP APIs, including RESTful API concepts and usage patterns
• Ability to work effectively in a DevOps and Agile delivery model, including iterative delivery to production
• Strong communication skills in English for day-to-day collaboration within the team

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 20000 PLN - 25000 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
