LOCATION: Full-time onsite in Chantilly, VA area

We’re looking for Software Engineers who thrives across the full software development lifecycle — from translating customer requirements into elegant designs to delivering production‑ready solutions in a fast‑moving Agile environment. In this position, you’ll support technical project efforts, estimate and manage development schedules, design new system interfaces, and contribute to program reviews that drive mission success.

Key Responsibilities and Experience needed

In this challenging yet rewarding role, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:

  • Technical project management with full lifecycle software development.
  • Estimating and managing software development schedules and deliverables.
  • Working in an Agile development environment.
  • Developing detailed software design and associated deliverables.
  • Translating customer and system requirements into design.
  • Designing new system interfaces.
  • Coordinating, supporting, and participating in program meetings and reviews.
  • Developing Single Page Applications using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 21+.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • developing Applications and RESTful web services using the following technologies or something similar: Solr, Elastic, Postgres, Java, Scala, RDS, Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot.
  • working with non-relational database systems such as DynamoDB (other on-the-job database experience accepted).
  • troubleshooting of Internet/Web related protocols and technologies (e.g. Tomcat, Nodejs, Web Services, and SSL).
  • developing JUnit and Jasmine tests and experience with testing platforms such as Jest or Karma.
  • working with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Nexus.

Highly Desired Qualifications

Other skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include working with:

  • Recent experience with the Sponsor's suite of applications providing repository and search services that enables Sponsor to find the information they need.
  • Hands-on experience developing user interfaces using Angular Material.
  • Working in a fast-paced, Lean Agile environment.
  • Recent experience with Sponsor’s profile and alerting services that represents a "prospective search" tool that sifts through incoming stream looking for items that match a user’s profile and alerts upon match.
  • Recent experience with the Sponsor’s discovery and recommendation services that allows a user to discover data they wouldn’t ordinarily know about and represents an information filtering system that leverages content-based approaches to discriminate between interesting and uninteresting items for a user.
  • Working with the Sponsor’s Pre-NLP processing pipeline to remove boilerplate text, portion marks and non-narrative content.
  • Working with the Sponsor’s federated search service that allows users to federate searches across external data systems.
  • Working with the Sponsor’s tagging and folder services and applications that allow users to curate and organize documents.
  • Working with Sponsor IT systems, missions, and strategies.
  • Communicating with senior customers, senior management, and implementation partners.
  • Creating and maintaining JIRA tickets.
  • AWS and Azure cloud services.
  • Building and maintaining constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors.
