Job Title: Software Engineer

Role Summary

As an Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain AI-powered application features and agentic workflows using large language models (LLMs) and orchestration frameworks primarily building backend services and agent logic in Go or Python. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that put AI capabilities into the hands of users and support business objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build and maintain AI-powered features and agentic workflows using LLMs, tool/function calling, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph).
• Build backend services, APIs, and agent orchestration logic primarily in Go or Python.
• Integrate LLM APIs and AI services into products, handling prompting, context management, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Where needed, build lightweight React interfaces to surface AI features and agent interactions to users.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and deliver seamless features.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute ideas to improve our engineering practices.
• Analyse and debug software and AI/agent behaviour to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Embrace opportunities to learn new AI techniques, technologies, and tools as part of your growth.

How You Will Succeed

• Apply modern AI engineering workflows prompt design, evaluation, and iteration to ship reliable AI features.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested backend code in Go or Python.
• Integrate LLMs via APIs and implement tool-calling and multi-step agent orchestration.
• Build and measure RAG pipelines, using retrieval and evaluation metrics to improve accuracy.
• Use AI coding assistants effectively as part of your daily development practice.
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement.

What You Should Bring

• 2–4 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including recent hands-on work building AI/LLM-powered or agentic applications.
• Proficiency in Go or Python as your primary language (preferred for this role).
• Practical experience with at least one agentic or LLM orchestration framework (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) or equivalent custom agent workflows (framework ecosystem is primarily Python; equivalent Go libraries or custom orchestration are acceptable).
• Experience building RAG pipelines embeddings and vector stores (e.g., pgvector, OpenSearch, Pinecone, FAISS).
• Hands-on experience calling LLM APIs (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, Anthropic, OpenAI) and prompt engineering.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus for building AI-facing UIs.
• Exposure to version control (Git) and basic CI/CD concepts.
• Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Demonstrated curiosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Basic Qualifications and Experience Requirement

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience building software applications, including demonstrable experience building AI/LLM-powered or agentic features.
• Hands-on programming experience in Go or Python.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Additional Skills/Preferences

• Experience writing concurrent, high-performance backend services in Go.
• Exposure to AWS, including AI/ML services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker), and containerisation (Docker/EKS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation and observability tooling (e.g., LangSmith) and techniques for reducing hallucination.
• Awareness of responsible AI practices: data privacy, prompt/output safety, and model limitations.
• Experience with TypeScript, Material-UI, or other component libraries.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Go testing, pytest).
• Interest in contributing to open-source projects or tech communities.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., Life Sciences) is a bonus.
