Software Engineer (API Integrations & Full-Stack Development) – Remote

About the Role

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Software Engineer to build, optimize, and scale modern software systems, APIs, and full-stack applications that support business growth and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems across backend systems, frontend applications, workflow automation, and API integrations. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to build scalable solutions while exploring AI-powered technologies that improve products and internal processes.

Responsibilities

API Development & System Integrations

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Troubleshoot API communication issues and optimize backend connectivity.
• Develop reliable integrations between internal systems and external platforms.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of existing integrations.
• Maintain secure authentication and authorization for API services.

Backend Development & Automation

• Develop scalable backend services using Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Improve internal tools and operational workflows through automation.
• Design efficient business logic and system architecture.
• Optimize application performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks.

Frontend Development

• Build and enhance responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
• Improve usability and performance across internal and customer-facing applications.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to implement new features.
• Maintain clean, maintainable frontend code that delivers an excellent user experience.

AI & Emerging Technologies

• Explore and implement AI-powered features and automation solutions.
• Integrate modern AI tools and APIs into existing applications where appropriate.
• Recommend new technologies and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to workflow improvements through AI-assisted development and automation.

Collaboration & Technical Ownership

• Partner closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system stability.
• Maintain technical documentation for APIs, workflows, and system architecture.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Strong understanding of backend development and application architecture.
• Frontend development experience using React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Node.js, Flask, or equivalent backend technologies.
• Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a collaborative remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with workflow automation and system integrations.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or browser automation tools.
• Exposure to AI tools, machine learning APIs, or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience improving engineering processes and operational efficiency.
