Software Engineer - MEAN for Workflow Innovation @ Barco

We are seeking a skilled MEAN Stack Developer to join our dynamic product development team who can be part of the Barco CTRL Workflow Innovation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing software applications using MongoDB, Angular, and Node.js, Python for AI first products. You will work closely with our globally distributed workflow innovation team to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer - MEAN in the Workflow Innovation team, you will contribute to the design and development of data-driven and AI-enabled product capabilities for Barco Control Rooms. You will work closely with product owners, architects, developers, and validation teams across locations to build scalable, reliable, and high-quality software that helps transform workflows and deliver meaningful customer outcomes.

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, system architects, and validation teams across locations to design and implement data and AI product capabilities.
  • Lead and contribute to the design and development of scalable full-stack components, APIs, and services using MEAN technologies and Python where relevant.
  • Work on AI-first product features that leverage data, automation, and intelligent workflows to improve control room operations.
  • Apply best practices in code quality, security, performance, maintainability, and software development.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across groups, geographies, and time zones to deliver high-quality product increments.
  • Ensure timely delivery of reliable, well-tested, and production-ready releases.
  • Guide and mentor fellow colleagues, while actively contributing to technical discussions and engineering excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking experience with the following technologies/domains:

Education:

  • B. Tech./B. E./M. E./M. Tech. in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering

Experience

  • 3-6 years of enriched full-stack development experience with strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Angular, and Python.
  • Experience in building scalable, data-driven product capabilities using modern full-stack technologies.
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, with a good understanding of data modelling, data access patterns, and performance considerations.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting reusable, maintainable APIs and services.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled product development, intelligent workflows, automation, or data-driven decision support systems is preferred and practical experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and the Hugging Face ecosystem is a plus.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization using Docker.
  • Good experience with test-driven development, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working with source code control tools like GitHub.
  • Good experience in leading technical tracks in product development.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP is good to have.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work on ambiguous, innovation-led product areas.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, groups, and geographies.
