Software Engineer
Join the BYU Broadcasting (BYUB) Digital Media Group and help deliver inspiring content to audiences around the world. BYUB operates three television channels and two radio stations, distributing live and on-demand media through broadcast, web, mobile, and connected devices.

What you'll do in this position
What qualifies you for this role
Required
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience OR equivalent industry/school experience
Experience deploying software in a continuous integration model
Experience with Agile software development
Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and knowledge of Node.js and JSON
Experience with AWS, Git, VS Code, and development tools like Vue, Nuxt, Express, and RESTful web services
Experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (document) databases
Strong understanding of programming methodologies, functional-programming, object-oriented languages, event driven architecture, and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
Ability to write clean, secure, well-commented code and contribute to managed code libraries
Familiarity with AI technology to assist in development tasks
Comfortable with both MAC and PC operating systems
Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple projects, and adapt to new tools and technologies
Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience.
Preferred
Pay Grade: 55T
Typical Starting Pay: $102,000 - $132,500
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
