The Steering Column and In-house SW team is part of the Deceleration and Steering department, at Chassis & Climate sub-unit. We are responsible to develop the Steering Column HW and SW that goes into the Steering Gear ECU.


As Software and Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible to develop state of the art functions connected to ADAS and Steering Feel. You will also be responsible to test and document your findings as well as implementing development processes that will assure the quality of the team delivery.

What you'll do

  • Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain software for automotive steering systems, including electric power assisted steering system (EPAS), steer-by-wire, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) related to steering.
  • Control Algorithms: Develop and implement motor control algorithms for steering systems to ensure precise and responsive vehicle handling, steering feedback control, and ADAS tracking.
  • Requirements Analysis: Gather and analyse software requirements for steering systems, ensuring alignment with overall vehicle design and performance goals.
  • System Integration: Integrate software components with hardware steering systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. Work closely with hardware engineers to define software-hardware interfaces.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test cases for steering software validation, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing. Utilize simulation tools and real-world testing environments to ensure software reliability and safety.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software issues and bugs related to steering systems. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance software robustness.
  • Documentation: Create and update test and compliance reports.

What you'll bring


Skills

  • Experience with function testing of CAN nodes in SIL, MIL, HIL, and vehicle.
  • Experience with SW function development, objective tunning, and testing.
  • Experience with SW development tools – MATLAB/Simulink, Carmaker.
  • Experience with testing tools – Vector CANape, CANoe (and CAPL), dSPACE, DSA.
  • Familiarity with testing principles and the ability to write and execute test cases.
  • Understanding different testing levels (unit testing, integration testing, system testing).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative development environment.
  • Familiarity with software development processes compluing with automotive industry standards, such as ISO 26262 for functional safety and ASPICE.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in software development within the automotive industry, specifically related to steering systems.
