What Makes This Role Great:
In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing the Modus Design System, directly influencing the user experience of hundreds of applications and shaping the future of AI-native engineering across Trimble.
Develop and maintain high-quality Modus Web Components for the Modus design system, leveraging modern component creation frameworks like StencilJS and styling utilities like Tailwind CSS
Implement and enforce AI-native development processes by leveraging the existing rules and skills configured within the Modus MCP Server to generate high-quality production code from Figma designs.
Ensure all components meet rigorous standards for accessibility (WCAG 2.2), internationalization (I18N), and responsive design.
Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automated documentation generation (Storybook) for the component library.
Enforce best practices in version control (Git ), code reviews, and adherence to design patterns and atomic design principles.
Experience: 3-5 years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record in component library creation or design system development.
Web Component Expertise: Strong proficiency in building Native Web Components using frameworks like StencilJS or Lit, and deep understanding of modern CSS/styling (e.g., Tailwind CSS/DaisyUI ).
AI Native Development: Practical experience with AI-assisted code generation processes, specifically configuring systems like the Modus MCP Server (or similar tools) using rules and skills to generate components.
Frontend Mastery: Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and familiarity with component integrations for major frameworks (such as React, Angular, Vue, etc).
Design Systems: Deep familiarity with atomic design principles and contributing to or maintaining a large-scale design system.
DevOps/Quality: Hands-on experience with Git , CI/CD pipelines , and ensuring high code quality through code coverage (aiming for 100%) and E2E testing.
Methodology: deeply familiar with Agile/Scrum workflows.
Experience in creating and managing design system 'Recipes' or themes for product-specific customization.
Understanding of core UI/UX design principles and how they relate to the development of consistent, reusable components.
