Hybrid WorkingWe are seeking for engineers with strong expertise in SQL, C#, and Azure, with exposure to VAR/Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Counterparty Risk domains. The role requires hands‑on experience in application architecture, performance optimization on large data volumes, and strong leadership or team‑management capabilities. Proficiency with CI/CD tools (UrbanCode/Jenkins), Git, unit testing, and Jira is essential.

About the Role:

The candidate will be encouraged to take a senior role in developing and supporting the various project initiatives of the Var Reporting team, within the Risk and Finance Lab. The candidate must have demonstrable C# and SQL skills with an understanding of Value at Risk preferred. A demonstrable knowledge of source code control and DevOps best practise is required. You'll need to be comfortable taking on a software development and maintenance role adhering to the full software development lifecycle. The candidate should be willing to embrace agile methodology and be able to engage with Product owners and fellow engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and test high quality C# applications.

  • Embrace the testing and delivery into production of any changes made.

  • Make changes to the software stack using TDD, developing adequate understanding to ensure system stability and performance is maintained while delivering change to customers.

  • Interact with Product Owner, Market Risk Analysts and other Customers to understand, design, estimate and delivery solutions.

  • Provide L3 support when required and propose solutions to ensure maximum service availability

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a C# Developer.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.

  • Azure, VAR, *Credit Risk, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk*

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure,).

  • Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks.

  • Certification in relevant technologies.

  • You’re able to get along with people and collaborate closely within a team, going to extra lengths for customers and colleagues communicate effectively with differing levels of seniority.

In a fast-paced development environment where multiple projects will need support in quality assurance and change control. You'll typically be working a business day from 09:00 to 17:00, with additional support needed out of ours for releases project work.
