Mō te tūranga - About the role

Working as a Software Developer within the ANZ FastPay squad, you will be joining an established team tasked with building, maintaining, and supporting mobile payment solutions. You will be working collaboratively within a high-performing and friendly team and wider stakeholder group.

We are seeking candidates with proven experience in backend software development and infrastructure and who can demonstrate a proactive and driven attitude. Experience in the payments domain is a plus.

Role Location: Our preference is for candidates based alongside the existing squad in Auckland.

Role Type: Permanent

Hours: Standard 37.5 hours per week

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

In this role, you would have the opportunity to:

• Bring your skills and experience to help build innovative mobile software using best-in-class network and cloud technologies, and modern software development practices
• Work within an Agile / Scrum delivery environment
• Own ongoing cloud security, maintain cloud services, and support any required infrastructure changes to production
• Develop frontend UI features
• Implement, maintain and support open-source authentication and authorisation services
• Implement, maintain and support merchant onboarding and payment features
• Take the lead in ongoing enablement tasks, e.g. underlying access and integrations including GitHub Enterprise, setting up CodeFresh, access to various development tools via AD groups

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

• A deep understanding of robust code practices
• Senior level experience with cloud, Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Experience with AWS
• Extensive experience with backend software development
• Senior‑level software development experience in Kotlin/Java
• Payments experience is a plus
• Experience with front‑end technologies such as React, Vue, and Redux is a plus
• A thorough understanding of software testing best practices and implementation
• Experience in a technical Agile/Scrum environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Patience and perseverance to overcome challenges, solve problems, and learn new programming languages and techniques
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
• A growth mindset with the drive and desire to learn
