Software at TI usually refers to embedded software (such as device firmware, device peripheral drivers, software frameworks, algorithms, etc.) and the related software development tools (compilers, simulators, demo software, IDEs, etc.)

Software engineers are critical to our “whole-product” offerings. We rely on them to ensure our products are easy to use and customers can get our products up and running quickly. To do that, they partner closely with our product development and demand creation teams on pre-silicon software design and requirements as well as software validation and test activities. They also have an eye for backwards and cross-compatibility and reuse to ensure we are as efficient as possible.

As a Flash Software Engineer, you will be responsible for development, integration and validation of low-level software modules for advanced embedded systems. SW development will focus around creating device drivers-based on flash, Bootloaders, Kernels etc. This is a primarily hands-on technical role requiring deep interaction with hardware, SoC design and verification teams to optimize software for automotive and industrial applications. You should be a self-motivated and independent individual who can take ownership of complex driver development projects, identify and resolve technical issues, and proactively collaborate with cross-functional (design, FAE and customer) teams to ensure seamless system integration. In this role, you will work closely with our engineering team to architect, design, and develop high-quality drivers that meet our performance, reliability, and scalability standards

Minimum Requirements:

• 2-5 years of relative experience
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field
• Strong Embedded firmware skills and experience
• Strong Assembly, C, programming skills
• Knowledge of embedded system – MCU, Flash, Bootloaders, ROM, Interrupts
• Knowledge of basic communication peripherals like UART, CAN, I2C
• Knowledge & experience in Software Engineering development best practices, including Static analysis tools, MISRAC, Code coverage

Preferred Qualifications:

• Concept of Continuous Integration using Jenkins and GIT
• Familiarity with software tools used to configure SW, Drivers and application
• Ability to understand customer requirements and use-cases and map them into functional requirements
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR MCALs is a plus
• Familiarity with ARM or proprietary CPU architectures is a plus
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop the MCU Flash ecosystem, consisting of Flash drivers, programming APIs, bootloaders for FOTA/Firmware updates, flash loaders for IDEs, and AUTOSAR Flash MCALs
• Support and resolve customer issues related to the Flash ecosystem
• Drive Flash ecosystem software deliverables for current and future MCU platforms, focusing on quality, ease of use, well documented code, and design documents
