The Software Engineer will be a core contributor to the Java development of CargoMate, a cutting-edge port call optimization system that enables real-time cargo operation monitoring and enhances fuel efficiency and emission reduction. The engineer will work on using Spring Boot, Kotlin, and Java, building scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot
Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend/mobile applications
Participate in architecture discussions and conduct code reviews
Ensure application performance, security, and scalability
Write clean, efficient code with comprehensive unit and integration testing
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, DevOps, and QA to define, design, and deliver new features
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing systems and optimize for performance
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and DevOps practices
5+ years of experience in backend software development
Proven hands-on experience with Kotlin and Java
Experience in Spring Boot and REST API development
Strong SQL and relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate or JPA
Experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
Knowledge of frontend technologies like React or React Native is a plus
Strong command over development tools, version control systems, and testing frameworks
