As a Team Lead, Software Development Engineering, you will play a critical role in leading the development of clinical trial data capture applications that power life-saving research. You will guide a high-performing engineering team, drive technical excellence, and ensure delivery of secure, compliant, and scalable solutions in a highly regulated environment.
You will lead and manage a team of approximately 10 Software Development Engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of clinical trial data capture software through effective people leadership, delivery governance, and technical oversight in a highly regulated environment.

What You'll Be Doing
- Provide direct line management for Software Development Engineers, including performance management, coaching, career development, and succession planning.
- Assigning team members to projects and monitoring their deliverables in terms of quality and timeliness.
- Ensuring the right have the right skills and experience.
- Defining and monitoring team goals and development plans.
- Oversee build and deployment of test and production databases
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Quality, Design, Translations, and Project Management teams
- Provide technical leadership to ensure high‑quality design and engineering practices
- Oversee and guide complex, customized client implementations
- Ensure operational readiness including pilot projects, internal validation, and experimental development initiatives
- Maintain coding standards and best practices within a regulated environment (ISO, FDA, 21 CFR Part 11)
- Provide technical oversight and direction, ensuring appropriate design decisions, code quality standards, and engineering practices are upheld by the team.
- Act as an escalation point and technical authority, guiding complex decisions rather than performing routine hands‑on development.
- Investigate and resolve high-impact technical production issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (tools, automation, process optimization, Kaizen)
- Communicate project timelines, scope, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders
- Support documentation and compliance requirements including SWIs and validation documentation
- Manage resource planning and ensure team productivity and delivery excellence
What We Look For
- Demonstrated experience leading teams that deliver production software within a structured organization, with accountability for outcomes, quality, and predictability.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5–7+ years of professional line management experience
- Experience leading teams that deliver production software in a commercial or enterprise environment (hands‑on development experience earlier in career is acceptable but not required in this role).
- Prior experience in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
- Strong knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: JavaScript, SQL, C++, iOS, Android
- Experience with version control and issue tracking tools (GitLab, TFS, JIRA, Visual Studio, Eclipse)
- Experience working within Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, or Waterfall methodologies
- Experience working with teams in different time zones.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineers or leading technical initiatives
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Based in India and able to work in a hybrid model
This role does not involve regular hands‑on coding or individual feature delivery. Success is measured through team performance, delivery outcomes, quality, and the development of engineers under your leadership.
