As part of our exponential growth, we are strengthening our internal engineering team and opening a Team Lead position in our Data2 Squad
About the Role:
We are looking for a Software Development Team Lead who can drive the architectural vision, guide a multidisciplinary team, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. In this role, you will lead a squad of engineers, collaborate closely with product owners, and apply best practices to build scalable, high-performing applications that meet complex technical and business requirements.
Your focus will be on delivering robust solutions, mentoring team members, and maintaining a strong engineering culture. You will contribute hands-on to development tasks: back-end microservices in Kotlin and Java - while continuously improving systems design, code quality, and team efficiency.
About the Data2 Squad
The Data Squad transforms communication data into actionable insights. We collect and process information from calls, emails, and messages, delivering it in raw or enriched formats. Clients can customize data processing to fit their needs, ensuring flexibility and precision. With seamless reporting and access to key metrics, we help businesses make informed decisions and improve efficiency.
The team currently consists of:
1 team lead (this role)
4 backend developers
1 frontend engineer (with backup in a sister team)
3 QA engineers
Technical Stack:
Languages: Java 21/25, Kotlin 1.9

Your Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of engineers: hiring, performance reviews, continuous feedback and day-to-day support
Define and drive quarterly, release and sprint planning to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
Own architectural decisions and technical direction; review and challenge designs with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability and testability
Ensure production stability: proactive monitoring, incident response, post-mortems and corrective measures
Define and maintain service contracts to ensure seamless communication between systems
Collaborate with Product, Design, Infrastructure and Customer Operations to align technical solutions with business needs
Contribute personally to back-end development, primarily in Kotlin
Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.
What We’re Looking For:
10+ years in software development within product-focused companies, with at least 5+ years working extensively in Kotlin or Java
3+ years in a people management role
Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Experience with Spring Boot Framework
Hands-on back-end development expertise
Strong system design background: distributed systems architecture, scalability and reliability trade-offs, long-term tech ownership
Strong engineering culture, attention to detail, and business-centric mindset
Leadership, clear communication and strong organizational skills.
