Job Description

The Amazon Finance Automation Technology Team is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to play a key role in building the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leading a team driving the next generation of scalable and fast distributed systems on industry leading technologies.
A Software Development Manager at Amazon works on real world problems on a global scale, owns their systems end to end and influences the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions of customers around the world. You can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, software development, Machine Learning, and object oriented programming. Key job responsibilities
* Working collaboratively, shape the vision and strategy for solving business problems spread across retail and other cross systems outside of retail
* Design scalable, secure systems that handle sensitive financial data.
* Mentor, grow, and share the journey to deliver with quality.
* Deep dive, develop and deliver systems that are highly maintainable. Technical leader for the team with the ability to deliver against all odds.
* Data driven approach for making right architecture decisions, managing business priorities
* Drive adoption of emerging technologies including agentic AI and LLMs
* Influence automation strategy across the organization

Basic Qualifications


- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
