Job Description

Join our team as we power the commerce engine behind Amazon Appstore — enabling millions of customers to discover, purchase, and enjoy digital content across Fire TV, Tablets, and emerging devices. As an SDM on the App Publishing Experience team, you'll lead the systems that make instant app publishing possible — from binary processing and device-compatibility resolution to distribution across 100+ device types and millions of customers on Fire OS and Vega OS. You'll drive innovations that reduce publishing latency from hours to minutes, lead AI-native development pods, and shape the roadmap for next-generation publishing experiences. You'll be part of the technical leadership team at Amazon Appstore's development center in India, with the opportunity to shape product architecture and build high-performing teams at scale.

Key job responsibilities
Lead the team responsible for developer experience across Fire OS and Vega OS on TVs, Tablets, and multi-modal devices (Echo Show).
Build and maintain APIs that empower developers to seamlessly publish and distribute apps across hundreds of devices to millions of customers.
Lead AI-native PODs to accelerate development velocity and drive cultural transformation within the team.
Drive technical excellence in mission-critical app publishing workflows, delivering 99.99% reliability.
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Business Intelligence, Developer Relations, and external 3P developers.
Mentor and grow a team of 10+ engineers working on distributed systems at Amazon scale.
Shape the technical roadmap for next-generation experiences on emerging Amazon devices.
Solve complex challenges at the intersection of scale, security, compliance, and user experience.

Basic Qualifications


- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
