About the Role

We're looking for a third- or fourth-year student to join us part-time as a Software Development Intern. This is

an in-person role at our Mississauga HQ, with a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year. You'll

work with our operations, customer success and finance teams to build and improve the tools we use every

day. Some of what you build will be internal, and some will be used directly by our customers

How we work: AI forward

AI is not a side project at Birdseye. It's a tool our teams use every day, and our developers are expected to be

proficient with it. You'll use AI coding tools as a normal part of your workflow, and you'll help build AI into the

tools our teams rely on. We're looking for someone who knows how to get real work done with AI, and who

can review, test and take ownership of everything it produces

What You'll Work On:

• Internal tools and dashboards that help our teams track performance and make decisions
• Automations that connect the systems we already use, so data moves between them without manual work
• Workflow tools that support our day-to-day operations
• Customer-facing applications
• Maintaining tools already in production: fixing bugs, making improvements, and writing documentation so
• others can use and support them

What We're Looking For

• Currently in the third or fourth year of a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
• or related program
• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages, including JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one
• back end language such as Python
• Front end basics: HTML, CSS and a framework like React or Vue
• Back end basics: building and using REST APIs
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, especially Zoho, Slack or Google Workspace
• Hands-on, daily use of AI coding tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot
• Ability to review, test and debug AI-generated code, not just accept it
• Projects that use AI or LLM APIs, such as OpenAI or Claude
• Working with databases, both SQL and spreadsheet-style data sources
• Version control with Git
• Writing basic tests for the code you ship
• Ability to take a loosely defined business problem, ask the right questions and turn it into a working tool
• Clear communication with non-technical people, in writing and in person. Most of the people you'll build for
• are not developers
• Documenting what you build so others can use and support it

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Replit or a similar cloud development platform
• Experience building dashboards or reporting tools
• A GitHub profile or portfolio with something you built end to end
