Washington Corporations is seeking a Software Development Intern to join our software development team and gain hands‑on experience developing real‑world solutions. This role is designed to bring in fresh perspectives informed by current academic experience while providing meaningful exposure to professional software design and development practices. Our developers support a diverse portfolio of operating companies and internal customers. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement.
What You’ll Work On
As a Software Development Intern, you’ll collaborate with experienced developers on real systems that support both customers and internal teams. Your work may include configuring and maintaining CI/CD release pipelines using YAML, setting up and managing Azure development infrastructure such as resource groups and networking for Logic Apps (Consumption and Standard) or Function Apps, and assisting with bug fixes in existing and legacy applications. We would also welcome your initiative in identifying opportunities where AI automation could improve software quality and development processes.
Skills & Educations
This internship is open to continuing students and recent graduates in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience). We are looking for someone with a strong interest in cloud‑based development, AI utilization, and modern software delivery practices. Relevant skills and experience may include:
Curiosity, a problem‑solving mindset, and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies
Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps, and general cloud configuration
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, including configuring and maintaining pipelines (YAML exposure is a plus)
Interest or experience with emerging AI technologies, such as identifying use cases, integrating services, or experimenting with AI‑enabled features
Understanding of agile or Scrum development practices
Working knowledge of C# and .NET (beneficial but not required)
Experience with Microsoft tools such as Copilot, Teams, Outlook, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint
We value practical experience gained through coursework, personal projects, internships, or professional work more than meeting every requirement on paper.
How the Internship Works
This internship is intended to be a hands-on, immersive experience working directly with our custom software development team in our Missoula office. The role will be full-time during the summer months and could potentially adapt to a part-time schedule if classes resume. This internship has the potential to grow into a long-term role, making it a meaningful opportunity to explore fit for both the intern and the team.
