Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer III, you'll bring your engineering expertise into a new way of working. You won't just write code — you'll use AI to design, build, test, validate, and ship software.

You'll work in a small, mission-driven cross-functional team called a Pod, made up of Product, Engineering, and Quality. The Pod operates with high ownership, collaboration, and minimal hand-offs.

Reporting to the Tech Lead, you'll be part of the Product & Technology team. You'll help redefine how software is built in an AI-native environment.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, from design and development to production and measurement.
• Work in a continuous-flow (Kanban) environment, managing WIP and delivering regularly.
• Use AI agents for coding, testing, documentation, specification, and deployment.
• Design, build, and debug applications across backend and frontend, with an understanding of distributed systems.
• Improve AI workflows by working with prompts, rules, skills, and documentation.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while owning quality end-to-end.
• Act as the first responder for production issues, helping maintain application health and stability.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to shared tools, knowledge bases, and the AI agent foundation.

We assess candidates across six key areas:

• AI Fluency: Use AI as a core part of engineering. Know how to prompt, evaluate, and improve AI outputs. Manual coding should be a conscious choice, not the default.
• Cross-Functional Versatility: Be willing to work beyond your core area, share knowledge, and collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, and Quality.
• Customer & Business Awareness: Understand the why and who before focusing on the how. Consider business impact, dependencies, and customer needs while solving technical problems.
• Engineering Craft: Follow good engineering practices such as SOLID, DRY, separation of concerns, testing, observability, and CI/CD. Maintain high-quality code whether it is written by a human or an AI agent.
• Technical Curiosity: Experiment, build prototypes, and test ideas. Stay curious about how systems work and continuously look for better solutions.
• Ownership & Entrepreneurship: Take ownership from start to finish. Don't wait for permission to solve problems, help others succeed, challenge existing approaches, and look for opportunities to create value. practice, whether the code is written by a human or an AI agent.
• Technical Curiosity: Build a prototype, experiment, and try to break it before relying solely on documentation. Stay curious about how things work and continuously explore better approaches.
• Agency & Entrepreneurship: Don't wait for permission. Take ownership of outcomes end-to-end, enable others to succeed, challenge the status quo, and proactively look for ways to create value.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following: Java/Spring Boot, Python, .NET, Go, or Angular, with the ability to learn and work with other technologies using AI.
• Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, data structures, API design, database concepts, and cloud computing.
• Experience with clean code practices, TDD, CI/CD, and version control.
• Experience with application monitoring, observability, and production debugging.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, pair programming, and automated testing.
• Experience with agent systems, MCP/tool protocols, or building AI-augmented workflows.
• Experience designing evaluation and observability strategies for AI-generated outputs.

Nice to Have

• Contributions to shared tooling, internal platforms, or open-source projects.
• Background in industries with strict regulatory requirements, such as gaming, financial services, or healthcare.
