Key job responsibilities
Design and implement scalable technical solutions for key Prime benefit products that reach millions of members worldwide, ensuring operational sustainability and performance at scale
Lead technical problem-solving for complex architectural components, contributing to the full software development lifecycle including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Collaborate with senior engineers to develop architecture solutions and provide meaningful feedback through active participation in code reviews for team members at all levels
Drive technical innovations in the benefits space through adoption of novel approaches and technologies, balancing customer requirements with team operational needs
Mentor junior engineers on software development best practices while documenting team software construction, testing, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing
A day in the life
You'll start your day analyzing performance metrics for Prime benefit systems, then dive into leading technical design sessions with senior engineers to architect solutions for upcoming features. Mid-morning, you'll conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates and ensuring operational excellence standards. Afternoons often involve hands-on development work, implementing scalable solutions that will serve millions of customers, followed by mentoring sessions with junior engineers where you share best practices and guide their technical growth.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
