The Role:

As a Software Engineer in our video processing and performance team, you will be a key contributor to the engine that powers our real-time visual intelligence platform. You'll work on a mission-critical pipeline that handles high-throughput video streams and connects them with advanced AI inference servers. In this role, you will balance the stabilization of core system components with the development of new customer features, ensuring our codebase remains high-performing and maintainable through proactive refactoring.

Organizational Context

Our team is responsible for the reliability and performance of Everseen’s video processing engine. Your work directly impacts the delivery of intelligent visual insights to global retail clients, requiring a high standard of technical excellence and a focus on continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

Design and Development

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new features and functionalities.
• Ensure that the developed solutions meet project objectives and enhance user experience.

Coding

• Design and implement reusable, testable, efficient, and elegant code based on requirements.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  

Testing

• Create, maintain, and run unit tests for both new and existing applications and services.
• Aim to deliver defect-free and well-tested solutions.
  

Data Analysis

• Analyze and collect data from various sources such as log files, application stack traces, and thread dumps.
• Utilize data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
• Create and maintain CI/CD integration using various tools.
• Automate the build, test, and deployment processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  

Integration of Third-Party Solutions

• Evaluate and integrate third-party software solutions to optimize system performance.
• Expand product capabilities by integrating compatible third-party solutions.
• Update and track third-party solutions' compatibility with Everseen stack according to internal development guidelines
  

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Monitor production logs to identify and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of any anomalies to maintain system reliability.
  

Documentation

• Responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating technical documentation to ensure code, systems, and processes are clearly understood and easily accessible by team members and stakeholders.

You will work closely within a cross-functional ecosystem:

• Senior Engineers To align on architectural standards, learn from high-performance computing experts, and collaborate on system-wide enhancements.

• AI Research Teams To bridge the gap between research models and production-ready implementations.

• Platform Development Teams To ensure seamless data flow and integration across our microservices architecture.

• Validation & QA Teams To investigate complex edge cases, reproduce issues from the field, and verify high-impact fixes.

• DevOps & Infrastructure To learn and implement best-in-class CI/CD processes and deployment strategies.

Technical Skills

• 2-3 years of work experience in a relevant role and global SaaS company.
• C++ and Python Proficiency: Strong ability to write clean, efficient, and testable code. You should be comfortable with memory management, multi-threading, and asynchronous processing.
• Linux Systems Expertise: Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues using log analysis, connectivity investigation, and system performance profiling.
• Computer Vision & Video Engineering: Practical experience with OpenCV and a solid understanding of video codecs, container formats, and streaming protocols (RTSP).
• Distributed Systems: Familiarity with microservices architectures and asynchronous messaging systems like NATS or Redis.
• Containerization: Knowledge of Docker/Podman and exposure to container orchestration using Kubernetes (AKS).
• Observability: Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health and stability.
