Position: Software Developer - Senior Location: Toronto, ON Job ID#: RQ11449 Duration: 5 Months Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating technical specifications into fully tested and deployable solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week in Toronto, ON. Key Responsibilities Translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. Develop detailed programming specifications. Write and/or generate code for enterprise applications. Compile data-driven programs and conduct unit testing. Maintain existing applications and software components. Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues arising during software operation and usage. Provide technical assistance during implementation, conversion, and migration activities. Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and solution architects throughout project delivery. Update and maintain technical design, architecture, deployment, and support documentation. Conduct design reviews and code reviews. Prepare effort estimates and report project progress. Participate in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban-based delivery environments. Required Qualifications Core Development Skills Extensive experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance. Strong experience with: Java Spring Boot JPA EJB Angular NodeJS Jasper Reports PDF generation technologies Experience building and integrating RESTful and SOAP web services. Experience developing microservices and distributed systems. Cloud & DevOps Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services. Experience with DevOps practices including: CI/CD pipelines Docker/containerization Infrastructure automation Experience preparing deployment packages and coordinating releases. Business Rules & Integration Strong experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM). Experience integrating with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW). Experience working with IBM WebSphere and Liberty application servers. Familiarity with middleware platforms, gateways, and communication protocols. Database & Data Migration Advanced PL/SQL development experience. Experience writing complex queries and stored procedures. Experience creating migration scripts and staging tables. Experience with relational and hierarchical databases. Content Management Experience working with OpenText Content Management System APIs. Experience maintaining and updating metadata within enterprise content platforms. Accessibility & Standards Experience developing accessible user interfaces and accessible PDF documents. Familiarity with GO-ITS 54 standards and accessibility best practices. Public Sector Experience Experience supporting permitting platforms or similar public sector environments. Experience integrating enterprise systems while adhering to government standards and compliance requirements. Agile & Collaboration Experience working within Agile Scrum and Rapid Application Development (RAD) environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments. Documentation & Quality Experience producing: Technical documentation Architecture documents Deployment guides User manuals System documentation Experience performing: Unit testing Functional testing Load testing Regression testing Experience providing effort estimates and status reporting.
