Job Description

With a passion for life

Join our diverse teams of passionate people and a career that allows you to develop both personally and professionally. At Getinge we exist to make life-saving technology accessible for more people. To make a true difference for our customers – and to save more lives, we need team players, forward thinkers, and game changers.

Are you looking for an inspiring career? You just found it.

About this opportunity

Not many developers can say their code saves lives. At Getinge, you can.

You'll be writing code that clinical teams in intensive care and anesthesia depend on when it matters most. Every button, every interaction, every design decision counts.

At Getinge in Solna, you'll build GUI solutions that are part of world-leading products in intensive care and anesthesia. We're now strengthening our GUI development teams and we are looking for two developers.

As a Software Developer at Getinge, you'll develop and maintain graphical user interfaces and libraries that healthcare professionals use to control medical equipment and monitor patients. You'll work closely with UX designers, system architects, product managers, and testers – collaborating across disciplines to find innovative solutions and contribute to the development of world-leading products.

What you will do

  • Develop UI components and frameworks in C++ and Qt/QML
  • Work with Embedded Linux as the target platform
  • Take active ownership of your part in the full development cycle – from requirements and design through implementation and testing, together with the team
  • Collaborate closely with UX designers, system architects, product managers and testers
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of how the team works – sharing knowledge, refining ways of working, and helping each other grow
  • Work in Git and GitLab for version control and CI/CD
  • Plan and deliver in Scrum sprints using Jira

We develop software in a regulated environment – it's part of our DNA and shapes how we think about quality and reliability, even when it's not top of mind.

You will bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics, or equivalent
  • 4–8 years of experience in C++ development, preferably in embedded systems
  • Solid experience with Embedded Linux – both as a development environment and target system
  • Comfortable working with Git and GitLab
  • Experience with agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum in Jira is a plus
  • Fluent in English – spoken and written. Swedish is a plus, and we warmly welcome candidates who are in the process of learning
  • You live in or near Stockholm and are comfortable regularly working from our office and lab in Solna

Meriting

  • Experience with Qt/QML as a UI framework
  • Background in medical device development or other safety-critical industries
  • Experience with automated test tools and Python
  • Knowledge of real-time systems for embedded platforms, control systems or control engineering
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks within medical technology
  • Interest in and experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling

Who you are

We place just as much weight on personality as on technical skills. You'll thrive here if you:

  • Take initiative – you don't wait to be assigned tasks; you identify problems and drive solutions
  • Are a genuine team player – you share knowledge, ask for help, and support colleagues without prestige
  • Learn quickly – you're comfortable in an environment where technology and requirements evolve, and you stay updated on your own initiative
  • Communicate clearly – you can explain technical decisions to non-technical colleagues and listen just as readily as you speak

At Getinge we see ourselves as proactive and self-driven in learning and contributing to the continued development of our products and our organization's capabilities. We are Team Players, Forward Thinkers and Game Changers.

We think you will thrive in a high-expectation environment and have an interest in our products.
